I had the pleasure of working with Rosemary for approximately 6 months. During that time she assisted me in changing habits to live a healthier life style. We set goals each week and she gave me the tools to keep track of those goals. Each week we would review my progress and if I was having trouble in any area we would talk and she would make suggestions so that a more positive outcome would result the next week. We covered everything; from how to get more vegetables in my daily meals to learning how to relax or changing my work out routine to prevent boredom. I would recommend letting Rosemary be your coach as you take steps to improve your life. It was a great investment for me.

I hired Rosie to not only help me get in shape for my May 2010 wedding, but to assist me in putting some healthy habits in place for a subsequent move to Europe. She did a fantastic job pointing out the aspects of both my diet and exercise routine that needed attention and the results were remarkable. From adding protein to my deficient diet, to committing to eating breakfast, to making leg workouts more regular, Rosie's tips pushed me off the plateau I'd worked up to already. In addition, her focus on the "mental health" aspects of a healthy lifestyle (i.e. committing to yoga as a regimen instead of going only when I was "lazy" and formulating a nighttime wind-down ritual) led to improvements at work and beyond. Rosie is a wonderful coach who became a fantastic friend on the journey!

Rosemary Beall kick-started what my husband calls a total remake of my body. In 2006 I felt I needed a trainer to help me make better use of my gym time. I was spending what seemed like plenty of time at the gym, but I wasn’t seeing any improvement in my physical condition. Rosemary convinced me that it was time for me to graduate from weight machines to mostly free weights. That made a world of difference! I quickly saw results and continue to make slight gains in strength, even though I’ve been an AARP cardholder for a few years.

Under Rosemary’s supervision I began with reasonable amounts of weight and gradually increased the weights. The area of greatest improvement for me was my back. I have a slight scoliosis (S-shaped spine) that had caused one shoulder blade to protrude for most of my life. Years ago at a former gym I had been told by a trainer that by using weight machines I could correct the problem, but that had never happened. One day, after I had been training with free weights for roughly a year, my husband pointed out that my shoulder was almost flush with the rest of my body—I was amazed when I looked in the mirror!

With Rosemary sending me a modified workout program every so often, I never get bored. If I don’t care for a particular exercise, she suggests an alternative. She caters my routines to fit not only my fitness level and goals but also my schedule. The aerobic exercises I do are my personal choices—a combination of elliptical trainer, walking (indoors and out), a low-impact aerobic class that I love, swimming, and line dancing. (You can see me working out to music at my gym on the cover of the May 2009 Brazoria County Business Journal, a special section of the newspaper in my neck of the woods—The Facts.)

Also, with Rosemary’s guidance I learned that with slight adjustments to my diet I could prevent problems such as swings in blood-sugar levels and snacking without feeling satisfied. I had always eaten what I considered a healthy breakfast, but I discovered I wasn’t getting everything I needed to start my day right.

Rosemary’s suggestions have made a big difference in my life. Like most people, I do not have a perfect body, but—unlike many people—I am happy with my body. If you follow Rosemary’s advice, I think you will be happy with your results, too.

When I started wellness coaching with Rosemary, I was about 25 pounds overweight and miserable.  To get things started, Rosemary met me at Albertson's to go on a Grocery Store Tour to teach me a new way of looking at the same foods that I had already been eating.  Then she helped me develop a plan to eat healthier, exercise and improve my overall quality of life.  I always thought that eating better would be like jumping off a bridge.

However, Rosemary showed me that being healthier can happen by simply setting small, realistic goals.  She taught me to pick a pace that is comfortable and gradually progress.  Through working with Rosemary, I lost approximately 15 pounds and am well on my way to losing the remaining 10 pounds that I have set out to lose.  Rosemary not only helped by holding me accountable, but she also encouraged me and made me feel that I could accomplish anything.

I am now able to comfortably wear a pair of pants that have always been too tight -- in fact, too tight to even zip in the last few months!

In the 5+ weeks since you provided my workout routine, I have turned 63 and taken a couple of short trips where I did not have a chance to exercise; nonetheless, as of this morning,  I have lost 4 pounds!  I increased my cardio exercise before Christmas last year in an effort to stop the spread and to lose the belly fat -- but in all that time, I really didn't see any results and my weight crept up.  I was at an all time high when I enlisted your help in September.

Even though I go to a gym regularly, I had never been interested in using any of their equipment and I only used 5 - 8 pound weights.  I was intimidated by the barbells, but I followed your recommendations.   It turns out -- I really like doing intervals and I like the captain's chair!  I would never have done either on my own!

Besides being fun, the interval workout is short and effective.   There are ladies on the treadmill when I get there who are still on it when I am FINISHED.  I like the way I feel when I have completed the resistance part of the workout -- a good tired all over!

I truly enjoyed the experience of working one on one with you as a wellness coach. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to learn the value of goal setting. Our weekly meetings enabled me to define goals, incorporate them into my daily life, and set a positive direction into the future. You helped me identify attainable goals, explained the importance of goal-setting, and gave me the tools to help follow through with these goals. The step-by-step process made the process thorough, concise, and motivational.

Your professionalism and positive attitude during our coaching sessions was much appreciated during my journey of maintaining a happy, healthy lifestyle.

I began my work with Rosemary about 13 weeks ago.  I have two small children and a full-time job.  It was "impossible" for me to find any time, beside my lunch break, to workout.  I was doing the same routines every week and in a rut.  Meeting with Rosemary once a week and setting goals has changed my lifestyle.  Over the weeks of working with her, I began a running program and am now working out at different times of the day.  Setting small goals, week after week, enabled me to progress in my lifestyle change without getting overwhelmed or giving up.  In my mind, I had to complete these goals, because Rosemary was going to ask me about my accomplishments.  Her attitude throughout the coaching sessions makes you want to achieve your goals to please yourself.  If you have a roadblock in your weight loss, Rosemary will help to find a solution that is tailored to you, with your family and lifestyle in mind.  I am happy to say that I lost 10lbs and am now a size 6.

She is a great personal cheerleader to have on your side.  She is understanding and not judgmental.  Wellness coaching with Rosemary has helped me become a person that I never thought I could be.  I am forever grateful for the journey I had with Rosemary.
